Talking to reporters here today, Food, Civil Supplies and Consumer Affairs Minister Lal Chand Kataruchak said that till December 31, 2024, about 40 lakh metric tonnes of rice will be withdrawn from the warehouses of the state to provide sufficient space for storage of the new crop. can go
The minister said that more warehouses are also being constructed through Public Private Partnership (PPP) mode. He also said that there is a possibility of creating 90 lakh metric tons of storage space by March next year. So there will be no shortage of space to store food grains.

He further said that the Aartis have started purchasing Basmati rice from today and the state government is fully sincere towards their demands and the issues raised by them.
Calling on the farmers blocking the railway tracks as a protest to refrain from doing so, the minister said that this would cause difficulty in ensuring free spaces for the new crop in the warehouses.
